Sara Hirsch

Sara Hirsch is a London-grown poet and spoken word educator currently on loan to New Zealand.

She is a former UK Slam Champion, ranked third in the World Slam Championships in 2014 and won the European Slam in Madrid in 2016. She is a TEDx speaker, has performed at Glastonbury and live on the BBC and has toured extensively, both in the UK, NZ and Internationally.

Sara holds a Master’s degree in Creative Writing and Education from The University of London and is Education Director for ‘Motif Poetry’. Sara has published two full-length collections with Burning Eye Books and her poetry has appeared in Journals/Anthologies in four continents.

She is currently raising a one year old toddler and a two year old puppy, directing a clowning show about ASMR and raw vegetables and attempting to dismantle the patriarchy, one poem at a time.
